Knowledge and experience of bike mechanics form our basic raw materials. CyCLO strives for quality for all maintenance and every repair. The CyCLO workshop is one of the best run workshops in Belgium. CyCLO vzw stimulates cycling in Brussels. By offering work experience and employment to people with difficulties on the labour market CyCLO vzw provides a creative response to the three major challenges in the Brussels Region: mobility, employment and recycling. Our technical bicycle knowledge is the basic material. Our position is essential but unique.

Culture

Tell us what bicycle your ride and we will tell you who you are. A bicycle can be so much more than a means of transport on two wheels. CyCLO is constantly looking for cooperation with Brussels residents, associations from the social and cultural sector and with the authorities to promote sustainable mobility.

Innovation

From gaps in the modal split, to prototypes for bicycle sheds to recycling design, CyCLO constantly works on new developments in the bicycle economy. The cycle points are the best example of this.

Recycling

We do not like the current disposable culture. For our second-hand bikes we dismantle, assemble and check every aspect of old bicycles and reuse as many components as possible. Your old bicycle is always welcome here.(in the Cyclo workshop) CyCLO vzw stimulates cycling in Brussels. Training and employment

CyCLO is a social economy enterprise in Brussels. Training through work experience and the creation of employment for target group workers in the bicycle economy are important to the city. Indeed, CyCLO employs many Brussels residents who are more distant from the labour market in a local economic niche that improves mobility and sustainability. At CyCLO each worker, target group or not, is given their individual career path. Because the workers are the engine of the organisation, CyCLO sets great store in personal development. The organisation of work experience and creation of employment make it possible for target group workers to be active on the labour market again but it is much more than that. The individual career path takes the personal and professional expectations and possibilities into consideration. Competence management therefore fits perfectly in our striving for quality and good results. Acquiring and deepening (additional) skills is crucial to the CyCLO-employee and makes them strong, both now and in the future. In 2011 CyCLO won the Prix de l’Economie Sociale (link).
